A exclusive walking Safari experience in the Timbavati Game Reserve

Simbavati Trails Camp is best known for its world class Kruger walking safari. The camp is located in the Timbavati Game Reserve, a prime Big 5 reserve that shares a unfenced border with the Kruger National Park.

Camp accommodation consist of 4 en-suite meru-style safari tents and hosts a maximum of 8 guests. Bucket showers are filled on demand with warm water, meals are prepared over an open fire by an expert cook and there is no electricity, nor cellphone reception. Just you and the noises of the magic African bush.

Days start with a +/- 4-hour walk at a leisurely pace with an armed specialist guide. Experiencing the bush on foot is very different to being on a vehicle and you will experience a complete immersion in the African bush. After a hearty lunch back at camp and bit of relaxing, you depart again for your afternoon safari. The day ends with a hearty meal around the fire.

The minimum stay is two nights. But to really appreciate the rich but slower walking trail rhythm, we recommend a three night stay. Please note that the camp is only operational during the cooler autumn to spring days from March to November. Children from 14 years up are welcome.
