Savute Under Canvas is located in a secluded area in the western Chobe National Park. This luxury tented Botswana safari camp moves every five days keeping guests as close as possible to the animal action. Wherever you’re based during your time at Savute Under Canvas, you can expect to see a real wealth of wildlife.
There are five guest tents. All are Meru style – an exterior layer of canvas extends over the inner structure to create a private veranda. The luxury tents are en-suite and feature a traditional bucket shower , filled with water every evening.
Savute Under Canvas’s communal tent houses the camp’s dining area, where guests enjoy delicious meals cooked over the camp fire. The camp’s bar takes the form of a side table, laden with a good range of alcoholic and soft drinks in addition to a tea-and-coffee station.
Game drives are the main activity here, taking place every morning and afternoon under the guidance of expert rangers. Featuring sprawling plains, woodlands, and the Savute Channel, the area is home to four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo.
