Ngala Tented Camp Big 5 Safari
The camp lies on the banks of the seasonal Timbavati River, only 3km from the Kruger National Park’s Orpen Gate in the the Ngala Private Game Reserve. The reserve shares a unfenced border with the Timbavati and Kruger Reserves and is a prime Big 5 destination. Ngala is a small intimate camp, with just 9 tents and offers a authentic Big 5 Kruger luxury tented camp experience.
With just nine tents generously spread out across dense riverine forest and a pretty lawn, the camp feels wonderfully secluded. Built around nature, rather than imposing on it, neutral colours and natural materials add to the overall sense of tranquillity. A shaded terrace with armchairs opens onto a king-sized bed, bar and dressing area. Tucked away in the back, a vast indoor bathtub overlooks an open-air shower.
For such a small camp, the pool and communal decks provide ample relaxation space.
Guests can enjoy Big 5 game viewing encounters on interpretive game drives in open-air vehicles. Ngala offers both off-road and night game drives, led by expert rangers and Shangaan trackers. Excellent sightings and photographic opportunities. Explore Ngala’s intriguing fauna and flora on interactive, guided bush walks that bring you face-to-face with wild Africa at its best.
Ngala Tented Camp is a great choice for a intimate Kruger luxury tented camp experience in a pristine Big 5 Reserve.Although children over 12-years-old are welcome in the camp, families are better off in the larger Ngala Safari Lodge where there is a WILDchild kid’s programme and family suites.
