Towering mountains, Sand dunes, and huge expanses of desert
Hoanib Valley Camp is situated in the remote Sesfontein Community Conservation Area in Namibia’s Koakoveld, one Southern Africa’s last and greatest untouched wilderness areas. The camp overlooks the picturesque Hoanib River Valley, a linear oasis of vegetation that runs through the oldest desert on earth, the magnificent Namib.
The focus at Hoanib Valley Camp lies on the astonishing diversity of desert-adapted animals that survive in the Koakoveld’s demanding ecosystem. Spend your days tracking these giraffe, elephant, springbok, oryx and lion on desert game drives and guided nature walks. The Himba, Herero and Damara communities of the area have ingenious ways of thriving here and will teach you how to adapt to the desert environment.
