Camp Okavango lies on the remote Nxaragha Island at the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, offering a year-round water wilderness experience. Rebuilt in 2016 , the camp offers guests modern comforts whilst at the same time preserving the special atmosphere for which it achieved its renown.
There are 12 spacious safari suites, remotely positioned to give that extra sense of privacy. Sliding doors open up to your private viewing deck offering magnificent views of the Delta.
Camp Okavango’s main lodge features a cocktail bar, lounge and wildlife reference library. The dining room leads onto an expansive open-air patio which is perfect for brunch, afternoon tea and tranquil evenings around the fire. There are two fire pits for stargazing and nightcaps, and a rim-flow swimming pool for cooling off.
The experienced and well-trained resident guides will introduce you to the Delta on mokoro (traditional canoes) or motorboat safaris. Guided nature walks around the smaller nearby islands , great for bird watching. Possible sightings include hippo, giraffe, lion, rhino, warthog and even the rare African Wild Dog. Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the Delta.
